At the outset we would like to introduce our company Electrosteel Castings Limited an engineering company, engaged in the business of Water Supply & Sewerage Conveyance Infrastructure development.

In the company’s plant at Khardah, 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India Electrosteel manufactures Ductile Iron pipes as per International standards with in house Mini Blast Furnace facility for preparation of pig iron from iron ore i.e., complete manufacture from ore to pipe. Corrosion Resistant DUCTILE IRON SPUN PIPES manufactured by the company are used for conveying Water and Sewerage.

Future Plans:

Electrosteel Castings Limited (ECL), a company into the Iron and Steel industry for over 50 years now, was among the first few companies to realize the potential that the state of Jharkhand has on offer. Iron ore one of the major inputs for steel making would be required for a steel plant. Accordingly, we pursued and obtained allotment of one Iron and Manganese ore block over an area of 192.50 hectares at Kodolibad Reserve Forest in West Singbhum District of Jharkhand for captive mining and supply of Iron and Manganese Ore for Steel making for existing plants and proposed 3 million ton Integrated Steel plant being set up in the Bokaro districts of Jharkhand.

We are in the process of obtaining the required statutory clearances for the Mine and have made substantial progress in this regard. We are now at a stage where we are going to finalize the contracts for important activities related to our Mining Project.

Tender specs for Kodolibad Iron Ore Mines:

ECL proposes to initiate an opencast project at Kodolibad Iron Ore mines located about 45 km from Barbil near Chotanagra on Gua - Manoharpur road.

A. Scope of work

Construction & maintenance of Haul road and road to dump if required
Complying with all Mining rules and regulations applicable to such project during tenure of contract
Complying with all statutory responsibilities applicable to such contract.
Providing all statutory personnel duly authorized by ECL for supervision of the project.
Providing all equipments and machines required for the project.
Maintaining production level as per agreed schedule.
Construction of garland drain, settling tanks, etc as required.

B. Responsibility of ECL

Provision of land for opencast project and its associated facilities
Provision of Plans, sections, schedules and safety directives as required.
Marking of Pit area, dump area, Haul Road alignment and other facilities.
Provision of surface lighting as required.
Provision of pumps & pipes as required.
Provision of explosives, detonators and safety fuse as per agreed schedule.
Periodic survey facility for billing purpose.
Weighment facility for products at delivery end.
Provision of adequate space for office, workshop etc.
Provision of 3.3 KV / 415 V power 100 m from site
Medical assistance and facility.
Public relation
Other infrastructures such as Crusher etc.

C. Responsibility of contractor

All machinery and equipments required for the project to achieve agreed schedule of production and OB removal.
All equipments and facilities required for complying with safety of the mining operations and maintaining local environment.
Provision of fuel and lubricants for machineries and rquipments
Provision of adequate skilled and unskilled manpower for operation and safety of the mine.
Provision of all statutory personnel (duly authorized by ECL) for operation and safety of the mine.
Complying with all rules, regulations, directives and statutory obligations applicable at any point during the tenure of contract.
Installation, operation and maintenance of pumps with electrical and pipe ranges for dealing with water.
Construction and maintenance of haul roads as per specification and directives.
Production Target achievement.

To backfill the exhausted pit area either from currently excavated OB or from dump.

F. Special terms and conditions

Contractor has to maintain the quality of Iron ore delivered at designated point as per agreed quality schedule. Each dumper / tipper carrying Iron ore will carryl record of location from where it has been loaded.
Contractor has to ensure that no Iron Ore is dumped in waste dump unless Mines manager specifically permits it in writing.
Inferior grade Iron ore if available has to be dumped in separate stock as decided by Company within the Mining area. Dumping of such material will require written instruction by Mines Manager.
