Electrosteel Steel is taking shape of a primary steel producer at Bokaro in the state of Jharkhand. It will be a 2.2 million ton per annum greenfield integrated steel plant

 
 
 

M/s Electrosteel Steels Limited (ESL), as associate Company of Electrosteel Group, pioneer in DI Pipe market is setting up a 2.2 Milion Ton Per Annum (MTPA) Greenfield Integrated Steel & DI Pipe Plant to produce 1.2 MTPA long product of steel, 0.27 MTPA commercial billet, 0.4 MTPA pig iron & 0.33 MTPA Ductile Iron Pipe. The proposed plant will be based on Coke Oven, Sinter Plant, Pellet Plant, Blast Furnace, Basic Oxygen Furnace, Billet Caster, Wire Rod Mill and Bar Mill.

Technology Supplier

ESL has tied up with leading Chinese Consultation Agency for supply of technology & engineering based on successfully operating Integrated Steel Plants in various locations in China.

Raw Material Linkage:

The Group has been allotted Parbatpur captive mine block for coking coal in Jharia Coalfield, near Bokaro. Total geological coal reserves is 231 MT. Iron Ore mine at Kodolibad near Barajamda and mine block for non-coking coal at Northdhadu, in the state of Jharkhand. Negotiations are in advance stage for getting required clearance for Iron Ore mines in the state of Orissa.

Plant Site

The proposed project site is located in Siyaljori Block , Bokaro District of Jharkhand State. The nearest town Bokaro, on the western side, is 22 Kms away from the site. The land comprises mostly of barren land with small undulation. Source for water for the plant will be Damodar river and the proposed location of the in-take pump house will be near the bank of Damodar river, which is about 10 kms away from the plant site.

The nearest railway station Talgheria, which is about 12 kms away from proposed plant site, is having single line electrified traction system.

The railway link for the proposed plant is to be developed from the above railway line with a take off point at Shewbabudih station.
