A pipeline is as strong and durable as the weakest link. Consequently, care has to be taken to ensure that the gaskets used in the pipeline, the nuts and bolts used and the jointing procedure is perfect. This not only enables trouble-free execution and testing but shall ensure decades of smooth functioning of the entire system.
Gaskets – For Flanged pipe jointing, Mould flat rubber gaskets of synthetic rubber like Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) or Ethylene Propylene Diemethyle Monomer (EPDM) are used. Use of poor quality gaskets is not recommended.
Nuts and Bolts – Nuts and bolts to be used for Flanged jointing should be properly galvanized to resist corrosion. The Nuts and bolts are made of Mild steel as per IS 1367 and the Materials Grade is of 4.6. The bolt Dimension should be as per IS:1364. High Tension bolts may be used where high axial load is anticipated.
